Pregnancy Update

The pregnancy update.  I haven't really done any of those.  I think it makes a pregnancy go a lot faster when it isn't constantly the topic of conversation so I try to avoid it.

We told the kids we were pregnant around 19 or 20 weeks...right after I had my first doctor's appointment.  At around 22 weeks, I had a big ultrasound (the day after returning from our UK trip).  There I found that I was on the low side of normal for fluid and was told to rest more.  I'm not sure how much it plays a part, but I didn't drink very much on the UK trip because I didn't want to be finding a potty every other minute.  Then two days later I had an appointment with my normal doctor who told me I need to start taking thyroid medicine, stop running/workout videos and change some of my eating (less pasta/bread and sugar).   Not a shocker with the thyroid since one of my sisters takes thyroid medicine.  The working out was due to lower fluid (even though I haven't be leaking or anything).  Then eating a combination of the above plus weight gain.  Good times.  I've never had any problems with pregnancy so this was all new to me.

Around 24 weeks we went to Disney/Paris.  In our 4 years we've never been completely sick (closest we've came was our Istanbul trip when our throats were sore).  This trip changed that.  The first day my legs hurt a lot.  Then the second day I woke up feeling like I could throw up.  I'll do pretty much anything to not throw up.  As the day progressed, my stomach hurt and my back started hurting plus the the baby decided it would be the prefect day to start kicking me all day long, especially on the bladder.  When we got back to the hotel, I took a bath and skipped dinner.  The final day of the trip was a little better, but I still just felt crappy.  On the drive home I kept thinking it would really bit to spend the rest of my pregnancy like this.  I would guess this is what a normal pregnant person feels like.  Our first day back all I wanted to see was if I felt better or still crappy.  I was very happy to find that I was back to normal with no big noticeable problems/ache/pains.

So back to normal for me just means I don't feel pregnant (aside from my clothes not fitting) but I get super tired.  I take naps in the afternoon and leave the kids out in the front room watching movies.  Kherington is quite the expert at navigating the computer.  I try to leave them with a good snack.  Hummus and veggies is a favorite.
