Easter morning the kids woke up and played a little then found their Easter basket in Kevin crib! So exciting :). They were both loaded with different toys and candy.
Kherington now loves climbing into Kevin's seat at the table. She's still below the weight limit so I don't really mind, I just find it amusing. She liked opening all the eggs, but we found she's not a big jelly bean fan. Really out of the candy, she ate some marshmallows and some snickers/twix type bars. After church we dyed some eggs. We tried using store bought package, but the colors weren't working on the brown eggs, so I broke out some KoolAid. We ended up with quite a few red eggs. In the future I'll definitely just do the KoolAid. They dye so quickly and smell good.
For Easter dinner we went over to friend's house. They made leg of lamb which I don't think I've ever had plus a ton of other food. It was delicious. I was in charge of dessert. I had made a carrot cake the day before and figured I'd frost it right before so I wouldn't have to refrigerate the cake. Well, I mixed up the frosting, opened the pan to put it on and the cake had green spots all over it. Apparently I still needed to refrigerate the cake. Oops! I quickly mixed up some more batter and made cupcakes with it.
In Belgium the Monday after Easter (Easter Monday) is a holiday so Ryan had work off. It was also Kevin's birthday so that worked out nicely. We did the Bruparck egg hunt with another family (they throw handfuls of chocolate eggs all over a playground then do heats). Kherington found quite a few eggs. Kevin got 6...he'd pick up an egg stick it in his mouth, I'd fish it out of his mouth and he'd pick up another egg, stick it in his mouth and I'd fish it out. After 6 he was getting kinda mad so I unwrapped one and let him eat it. We also road on the merry-go-round. Kherington loves it, Kevin liked the first 5-10 seconds then wanted off. They had free face painting. I tried to get Kherington to do it, but that wasn't happening. She was having too much fun chowing down on cheetos and chocolate!
We celebrated Easter a week late with a couple families from the ward. It was nice and relaxing. The family that hosted has a huge backyard so everyone brought some filled plastic eggs and we had a GINORMOUS egg hunt. Kherington was pretty cute though. She would see an egg in the distance and walk past a couple eggs to get to the one she was focused on.
We had fun chatting while different kids chased our kids around which was sooo nice!
We sang to Connie for her 40th birthday then Connie whipped out this awesome candy birthday cake she made for Kevin and Kherington's birthdays. Kherington couldn't wait to pull the kit kats off the side and stuff them into her mouth. One of the funniest moment was Kevin and the Egg Tree. He found it. Went and got a basket and started taking the eggs off the tree and putting them in the basket. One of the eggs wouldn't come off and he ended up with the tree on top of him :).
