Soap Derby

Yeah, so we're not good bloggers...what can we say. I do actually have a couple pictures. A month or so ago we went to a soap derby for the ASM (association of systems management) club. We carved our own race car, attached some wheels and raced them on the same track they use for a pine wood derby. I believe out car placed 8th overall. FYI: we used Ivory soap because it's best for carving...and the winner put their wheels on the narrow side of the soap so their car was really tall.

Iron Chef Glover

We love watching the Food Network channel and our show of choice currently is Iron Chef, so we decided to have Iron Chef Glover. The secret ingredient: CHICKEN. We each got two chicken breasts and could make anything we wanted with them. Ryan made Alice Spring Chicken (for all you outback fans, you can find it on the menu there) and Erin made Spinach and Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breasts.

Each dish was so different which made it very hard to compare. Since they both tasted really good, we determined it was a tie (no fun). As our tie breaker, we had Erin's younger brother, Logan, come over to judge (it was pretty hard to get him to come eat free food). He said since he's more of a BBQish fan, he favored Ryan's Alice Spring Chicken and even asked if we could teach him how to make it so he could impress a girl...he just has to first find a girl to impress.

We then made plate of goodies to take to people in the ward for Halloween. Erin made pumpkin bread and peanut butter bars while Ryan made No-bakes. Yummmy!

Aside from our cooking life, we are both still going to school and working. Ryan has been interviewing with Accounting firms for a Winter Internship. Saturday we went to our first women's volleyball match of the season with Megan, Elaine and Aunt Celecta. Pretty fun!

BASKETBALL MANIA!!!!

As college basketball games are about to get underway, I thought it would be appropriate to share with you a picture of my collection of collegiate hats. Currently, I have 109 hats from numerous Division I schools throughout the nation. I'm very lucky to have a wife who supports my hobby and allows me to build my collection on a monthly basis. Good luck to all the teams that are about to begin their pre-season games and may this upcoming year be another one full of excitement!

Rockies vs. ???

As the miraculous season of the Rockies heads toward the World Series, we now await the infamous duel between the Red Sox vs. Indians. The ALCS hasn't seen much from the Red Sox during games 2, 3, or even 4 (currently playing); however, Erin and I don't lose hope in our Red Sox. We do wish, though, that we could attend Game 5 with Bren and Elise.

Tough Loss

Well, Ryan is too upset to write about our loss. Our Red Sox just lost it at the end making the game seem like a blowout even though in reality it was grueling 11 inning game. It's okay though. They will be back to beat the Indians on Monday.

ALCS - Boston Red Sox vs Cleveland Indians- Game 1

The 1st night of the ALCS turned out to be the touring show of Beckett, Ramirez, and Big Papi. With Beckett manhandling the pitching duel with C.C. Sabitha, the Red Sox left no remorse by outscoring the Indians 10-3. Big Papi and Ramirez provided the team that 3-4 punch by contributing 4 runs, 3 RBIs, and getting on base 10 times. We can only hope the success will continue to Game 2 tonight when Schilling takes the mound.
