Healthy Kid Day

I decided awhile ago if I was on my own with kids on Saturday we would go to the Y so I could workout and have some alone time.  We went and as we were leaving learned that they were doing a free special kids day obstacle course.  The kids loved it.  Even Jonathan got in on the fun.

Kherington's 6th

Kherington turned 6!  It is no surprise that for her birthday breakfast she requested bacon with a side of egg and toast.  She is our little bacon girl.  We were lucky to have Grandma Glover and Adam in town for her birthday, which was really nice since Ryan is already in Washington.  They were stopping on their way to Utah so it worked out perfectly.

For lunch we were picked up chick-fil-a and went to eat with Kherington at school.  She loved having all of us there and felt really specially.  when she got home from school, she opened presents.  Kherington is in love with her new doll named Kendra.  She also got her own complete craft box and a spinning necklace hanger.
For dinner we went to Rosa's for some delicious food and fresh made tortillas.  After our past failed cake attempts (the kids not eating the cake), we did a donut tower cake instead.  It looked pretty cute.
Kherington picked out the powdered sugar ones so maybe next time it will just be a powdered sugar donut hole cake.
We wish we could have Grandma and Adam all the time.

Back to The Kids

Is it weird that while I was gone, I couldn't believe I had 3 kids?  Well, they were home waiting for me.  My mom (Grams) came down and watched them while I was gone.  It was a huge help, plus I love it when they get time with the grandparents.  We had Grams for one more day before taking her to the airport Tues.  Next time we see her we will only live a couple hours away!

Parents Only Road Trip to Camas

For the first time since Belgium (so at least 1.5 years) Ryan and I went on a kid free trip.  Granted this trip included 30+ hours of driving in 3 days, so not quite the same as our European vacations.  We stopped in Farmington, NM the first night.  Ryan really liked his Bake Potato Pringles.  We were about an hour away from our stopping point when Ryan got pulled over (and this is after getting a parking ticket his last week of work).  Good thing this time was just a warning because his headlight was out.

The second day we stopped in Provo  We walked around campus, enjoyed some chocolate milk from the creamery and then met up with Michelle and Clarke for dinner at Cafe Rio.  Delicious!  After dinner we stopped by Kourtney's for little visit.  Funny thing is we didn't know exactly which house was her's, we just knew the street.  So we stopped, asked someone and they didn't know.  We tried knocking on her brother's door, but no one answered.  Ryan went and knocked on another door while I waited in the car and as luck would have it, it was their house.  I can't wait to spend more time with her in June.  After our quick visit, we drove up to Brigham City.

Last day of driving. It really wasn't that bad of a drive since we had no kids with us. It also didn't hurt that we ate Cafe Rio again in Boise.  Plus the last day is when the scenery finally gets gorgeous.  I can't wait to be back in the land out greens and blues.  It didn't hurt that the weather was perfect.
We stayed with Ryan's cousin's while I was in town (Ryan can move into his apartment in a week).  They are awesome and have 3 kids roughly our kids ages. I can't wait for them to be friends.  We spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday driving around the area, looking at houses, talking to the bank, etc. Saturday morning Nancy invited me to go on a long run with her and friend.  We ran 10 miles on a beautiful trail down by the lake.  I can't wait to do it again.
