Whirl wind week

Our first week back from Myrtle Beach went by so quickly and I didn't take many pictures or write anything down.  On Monday we saw our friends in the morning at the Y and she volunteered to take my kids for a couple hours so I could run errands.  We are good about getting all the way unpacked quickly, but coming back from vacation there is still stuff to do (like blog and grocery shop).

We spent a lot of time with our friends.  I had all the kids at the splash pad and they found a grasshopper sitting in the water.  After running screaming away from it, one of them finally picked it up by the leg and started carrying it around.

Jonathan 7 months

Jonathan is 7 months old!  I wish I could say he is just an awesome chill baby, but that's still not the case.  He was so good in Myrtle Beach I was hoping that would carry over to Dallas, but it hasn't.  I'm guessing he really liked having so much attention there (he's acting like he should have been a first child not third).

He started eating purees in Myrtle Beach but only fruit and only in the morning.  Then something clicked when we got home and he started downing the food (still not a huge veggie fan though...I mix it with peaches and he likes that).

He still has no desire to crawl and whines every time I put him on the ground to play.  With that said, if I put him in his crib to play he is usually fine with that.  I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I think part of it is that when he's in his crib he can't see me.

He goes down to sleep pretty easily. I just lay him down and walk away.  He is now back to waking up during the night and I've just been doing a quick 5 minute feed and putting him back down.  I really should be letting him cry himself back to sleep but I haven't been (unless he won't go back to sleep after eating...usually he needs to poo and there isn't much I can do about that so I let him cry and change him in the morning).

Family Pictures 2014

We took two round of family pictures while we were in Myrtle Beach.  The first round the weather was perfect, but the kids were tired and hungry.  The second round the kids did much better and our friend Paula came and helped with the pictures, but it was super windy.  I'm hoping third times a charm and we can take them again in 3 months or so when Jonathan is old enough to actually look and smile.  We did get some that I really like.
