U.S. Visit - Washington

Our next airplane ride was a short one. Just Salt Lake to Seattle where we stayed for two weeks! Kherington and I ended up chilling in the SeaTac airport for a couple hours while we waited for my parents delayed flight to get it (they were supposed to leave just 30 minutes after us, but ended up leaving about 3 hours after us).

We spent the late evening doing some planning and shopping for Logan's open house the next day. Then the next day we went to work making some yummy food. The wraps were amazing! They had cream cheese, jam, turkey, sprouts, tomato, bacon bits and avocado...ooooo...i could go for one of those right now!

The open house was fun. Anna and Log looked great and i ate a TON of those wraps :)

As to the rest of my break there, I spent a lot of time shopping and relaxing. Kherington learned how to open the cupboard to the cans and spent his time pulling everything off the shelves. We'd load and she'd see that it had been put back together and clear it right off just like something was messed up. She also LOVED playing on the trampoline with Grandpa and Michelle.

One of the best part of the trip was spending a couple days with Robin and her family over in the tri-cities. Kherington actually played with her two cousins there instead of shying away and being cranky.

We loved being there and are excited for round 2!

U.S. Visit - Utah

Our next airplane ride was Myrtle Beach to Denver to Salt Lake City for Logan and Anna's wedding (the whole reason for a long trip to the US). We were only in town for 3 days, but were able to visit a lot of family from both sides and just a couple friends (sorry to those we missed).

Glover Family Highlights

  • We got visit with Ryan's Grandparents - Kherington was VERY tired and thus cranky as you may have guess from the picture
  • Aunt Leah so nice to let us stay with her for a night
  • We got to spend a little more time with Ryan's mom
  • Adam was able to FINALLY win Kherington over...look at them :)

Friends
What would we do without our friends? It was great being able to catch up with a couple of them. Sadly, I only took one picture (but it is a dang good one). So...we have Kourtney and Kherington at Color Me Mine and look at that smile! Kourtney's going to be a great mom in just a couple weeks now!

Dixon Family Highlights
Wedding Stuff
  • The Wedding!
  • Dinner with Anna's family - we enjoyed getting to know them a little bit while eating some good old Cafe Rio. Logan has some great in-law's!
  • Dana and Michelle got to watch all 9 grand kids while we were at the temple...the entertainment of choice SCAMPER of course...this should bring back memories to all you Dixon cousins
  • Kherington loved watching her cousins run around on the grass while we waited for the newlyweds to come out of the temple
  • We DID get a grand kids picture with Log and Anna some are crying but it's the memory that counts right, haha
  • Anna's family put on an amazing reception. I loved the Logan/Anna picture book, cute decorations and of course the food.

Party Time
My mom found a sweet house up little cottonwood canyon that the whole family was able to stay in. Sadly we were missing Ryan and Kyle, but we still had a blast.
  • DOGGiN Runs - Dixon, Olson, Garnica, Glover, Nielsen. Now we're talking a serious 5K complete with a finishing line, prizes and T-shirts for it! Robin and Lani scoped out a course that would start and end at the house we were renting, but we didn't have a way to mark it. Well, thanks to some quick thinking, someone decided to mark it with Banana's (not sure to give credit to on that one). So the idea was that you turn when you see a banana...we couldn't just do street signs b/c some of them were turned and didn't mark the correct road. There was some confusion with the course but it was still a lot of fun...Dad and I even got a prize...turtle stuffed animals (we tied for last). The kids also got to do a mini race at the park outside the house...Great Grandpa Finley helped Kherington out :)

  • Birthday - Kherington's actual birthday was while we were there and for her birthday she got SHOTs! Yep...we decided since we liked the doctor there we should get them done while we could
  • Chillin' - I loved being able to just chill with everyone. We did get another grand kids picture as well as a couple other great shots :)

*Truth be told Kherington was she was pretty cranky during our time in Utah...apparently she doesn't do so well with so many rambunctious kids that have even more energy then her or she was upset at being yanked around so much...I'm thinking both

U.S. Visit - Myrtle Beach

Kherington and I had on LONG trip back to the U.S....long as in about 3.5 weeks...during which Ryan stayed behind in Belgium to work. We did get to iChat with him quite frequently which Kherington loved.

We started by flying to Myrtle Beach to spend a week with Ryan's parents. We were supposed to go Brussels to New York to Atlanta to Myrtle Beach but while we were waiting at the airport (mind you we were 2-3 hours early) we got paged and asked if we would like to change our flights, leave 40 minutes earlier, fly direct to Atlanta then to Myrtle Beach, get in 4 hours earlier AND have a row to ourselves. Yep...pretty sweet deal...truth be told they were having issues with the flight to New York (security level was high, they even brought in police dogs) but it was definitely in our favor.

Our week in Myrtle Beach flew by. Kherington learned to crawl up and down 2 stairs and loved all the crawling room. She had fun on her walks with her grandparents and LOVED the beach. I was able to relax, enjoy a couple bubble baths, and cook without Kherington at my legs.

We also celebrated Kherington's birthday (a couple day's early). Her food - Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets (her first time ever having chicken nuggets), french fries, cucumber and applesauce with a very yummy chocolate chocolate cake. She did love the nuggets. She was a little slow with the cake, but she enjoyed it. We were even able to have Ryan there via iChat to enjoy the occasion (it was middle of the night in Belgium, but you can't miss the first cake eating).

Thanks for a great time! We had so much fun and can't wait to visit again!

World Travels

There is good reason for the lack of blogging in the last month or so. We have been all over the place. In the last month Kherington and I have spent over 27 hours on a plane and over 20 hours in a car. Yeah...just imagine where you could go having spent that kinds of time in transport :). I'm working on bloging our travels and will hopefully have it all out by the end of the week!
