2 weeks old

Today Kevin is now 2 weeks old! He's still an awesome baby. He stays awake more during the day and sleeps awesome at night (I wake up to feed either just around 3am or at midnight and 5am). He takes a binki but we haven't tried a bottle yet. I chopped off his mullet and trimmed the rest of it (he had tons of hair). Here he is:

Kherington's Last Naptime as a 1 Year Old

Kherington hasn't had a set nap this last week since she's been busy traveling with Ryan and his family (recap post to come). Today was the first day she has been home around naptime for a long time, so we gave it a go.

She talk and talk, pounded on the door, talked some more and pounded some more. Finally after about an hour I went in to see what was going on. I open the door and find this:

We didn't think she could climb up on the big bed so we left the suitcases in there with her thinking everything was safe. Well, apparently when the trundle bed is pulled out she can hook her foot on a little ledge, and pull herself up (we bribed her by putting a chocolate egg on the bed to see how she did it). She got herself up, opened the suitcase, pulled out Grandma's makeup bad and went to town. Mascara, lipstick, eyeshadow...all so much fun!

Grandma took her to get everything washed off...it was all over the face, neck, hands, arms, and legs (she's wearing capris). A brush was missing so I shut the door to look for it and I found this hidden behind the door...sharing is caring :)

Change is GREAT

Sometimes I think of all the things that have changed since we were married a little over 4 years ago. We are planners and like to know how things are going to work, where we are going to be and what we can look forward to (especially me). With that said, plans keep changing as new opportunities arise.

I like change...it keeps life fun and in the last little while we have had a lot of change: new baby, new car (bigger and manual), new job (I'm doing a little consulting work), new calling (Ryan's now Elder's Quorum Pres), no calling (I'm no longer in the Primary Presidency), new friends and toy for Kherington. In addition to all this change so many other good things have happened...we got the car 2.5 weeks early (in time to use it while Ryan's family is here and with only 3 kilometer's on it), we found out we get an increase in representation allowance for Ryan being an experience Junior AND an increase in COLA for having another child, I recovered really quickly from giving birth, I was released from the hospital after 2 days (instead of the standard 5 days), Kevin is a good eater and sleeper and seldom cries, playgroup is going awesome and Kherington loves her friends, the weather has been warm (like upper 60's, lower 70's warm) and more.

Sometimes life seems so good that I start to worry about what bad thing is going to happen to balance out all the good. I'm working on trying to just to enjoy life now...and make some travel plans to look forward to :).
