Valentines Day Family Celebration

Since we didn't do any fun food the night before, Sunday morning we had a Valentines breakfast of bacon, eggs and hot chocolate with heart marshmallows. Kherington came down in her swimsuit which gave me a good laugh.  Then she came in my room in this beautiful outfit.  My normal rule is as long as the underwear is on right, it is modest and weather appropriate the kids can wear what they want.  For church though, it has to be a little better.  After outfit one, she went and changed into outfit two.  Much better (leggings were borderline though, but not worth the fight).  Kherington gave the talk at during primary and did an awesome job practicing.

Valentines Day fell on a Saturday this year.  I got in a nice run, but forgot to plan any fun food for the day. Ryan had to work so it was a fun day with kids.  We went to Lowe's Build and Grow and made picture holders.  Kherington is getting really good at following the instructions and doing it herself. Jonathan was happy in the cart as long as he had a cracker.  We went to the library and to the playground.

Valentines Day Celebrations

We celebrated Valentines Day a couple times.  We did pizza and sugar cookies at out place early in the week (which I failed to take any pictures of).  I wrapped boxes in colors requested by Kherington and Kevin then they decorated them with stickers.  I thought it was super cute that after school Kherington and Levi sat down and went through each others valentines and made some trades (Star Wars for hearts) that they were both excited about.

Yissel threw a big Valentines Day Party for all the non-school age kiddos and even made a little photo wall (we went back to her house too play after picking Kherington).
Jonathan had fun too and I even almost caught a smile.  At home we opened a package from Foxy & Toot.  The kids had fun breaking open little packages that then instantly inflated into mini heart balloons.

Pancake Tower

Another one of Jonathan's new found favorite activities...stacking syrup covered pieces of pancake on top of his water bottle.  I guess it beats throwing them on the floor when he's full.

Best Friends

These two are best friends.  One day after school they setup a color station where they could quietly work together on their artwork.  I love that Kherington likes to do stuff with her little brother.

Mr. Marker Man

Jonathan recently learned how to open the caps to markers.  He is so proud of himself, but it makes my life so much harder.  He also still loves to sit in the doorway.  We'll definitely have to find a new favorite spot before we need to start running the AC.

Timeout Zip Up

Kherington and Kevin were having a really hard time getting along on Sunday afternoon.  After trying other ways to get them to be nice to each other, I zipped them in a sweatshirt together.  They immediately fell down and rolled all over each other and kept fighting.  Then after a couple minutes they started working together and laughing.  I'd say it was a success.
