Mom was nice enough to watch all 3 little kiddos while we took off for 2 days in London. I have a friends from back home who lives there now with her husband and daughter who let us stay with them in Sidcup right off the train line.
We started our trip at Borough Market which normally has a booth of food from around the world BUT on Monday's there are only a few open so it wasn't as cool as we were hoping it would be. We walked along the river down to the Shakespeare Globe, across the Millennium bridge to St. Paul's Cathedral then over to Trafalgar Square. Here we found some city bikes to rent and rode up to the British Museum. Not super smart since it was raining decently hard and we biked through a fun part of town.
We spent a long time in the museum, relaxing and enjoying being of the cold and rain. Then made out way through Chinatown to Piccadilly and then to Hamley's toy store. Fly saucers, cars that run on the wall, cars that turn and flip so they can't get stuck, personalized songs, bubble guns and more.
For our second day, we went downtown just for the Changing of the Guard. Totally not worth it. There wasn't any drum or anything.
After a stop at Costco (wipes, diapers and mini Weetabix stock up plus pizza) we hurried down to catch a session at the temple. I'd been to the temple grounds on each trip (they're my favorite temple grounds) but this was my first time being able to do a session there.
We barely made the session (they're only done on the hour). Afterwards we were able to catch an early euro tunnel train which was awesome. This is why I like the euro tunnel over the ferry. If you show up early they'll put you on the next available train.
