Monsters

I love these little monsters and am getting to spend a lot time alone with them since it is crazy busy tax season.  Please notice that all 3 wore their BYU shirts when BYU played.

Cool PJ's

Two months later and the pajamas that brought tears on Christmas Eve are now cool.  I sent the kids upstairs to get ready for bed and they came down in these, plus requested that Ryan and I wear ours.  Maybe this tradition should continue.

Playgroup Firehouse Visit

I am sure I toured a firehouse when I was little, but I didn't remember it at all so I was probably just as excited as the kids to check out the one just up the road from us.  We arrived a little early and got to hang out on the comfy chairs.  Jonathan thought the mound of remote controls were pretty awesome.  We walked around the inside of the building, then watched a firefighter get dressed and then got to climb on the truck.  It was short, sweet and fun.

Shopping for Birthday Presents

I took the kids shopping for items to put in their friends birthday present (we built her an awesome craft box).  While we were doing so, the kids decided I should take pictures of things they want since their birthday's are both coming up.

Then after Kherington saw the completed craft kit, she told me she wanted me to decide what to get her since I have better ideas. No pressure.

"But He Was Having Fun"

We had our first somewhat major injury.  Pretty good considering we have 3 kids.  I was upstairs doing laundry when it happened.  When I came downstairs, Kevin's first words were "but he was having fun," as Jonathan came screaming to me.

Kevin and his buddy Isabel decided to lift Jonathan onto the rocking chair and then rock him as hard as they could.  It wasn't shocking that Jonathan went flying off.  He hit the tile edge and got a cut on his forehead.  I wasn't sure if it was big enough for stitches and hate doing medical stuff anyways, so I decided to use a butterfly bandage.  Jonathan was pretty wiggly, and two 3 year old weren't super helpful of keeping him still.  When Yissel came to pick Isabel, she helped hold him still so I could reapply the butterfly bandage.

Texas Snow...in March!

I woke this morning to go for a run, but found this outside.  Too bad Jonathan didn't get the 'snow day' memo.

Randoms

This month one of the teachers a the Y decided to have us do a fit test once a week each week.  We tracked how many of each exercise we could do in 1 minute.  The exercises were high knees, burpees, squat jumps, push-ups, pull-ups, weighted v-toe touches, and dips.  The last exercise was to see how fast we could run 1 mile.  My fast pace running 3 miles is an 8:30 pace so I figured I would be lucky to break the 8 minute mark.  Here were my times: week 1 - 7:20, week 2 - 6:50, week 3 - 6:38 and week 4 - 6:27!

I haven't made this soup since Belgium and I finally did.  It is amazing!  It is Roasted Italian Sausage Soup with Garbanzos, Lentils, and Tomatoes.  Plus it freezes so well.
We were getting ready for FHE, but hadn't made assignments so Kherington wrote them down and put them in a hat.  When Ryan drew his paper out, it just had scribble on it.  Kherington told us it was a 'skip' card and he would have to draw again :).
