I had been meaning to make dentist appointments for awhile now and finally hunkered down and made appointments (for the kids...still need to do me). I was a little unsure of how they'd do since when they went to Bren's office they would barely open their mouth. I spent a couple days prepping them with what would happened and added in a nice bribe of chick-fil-a for lunch the following day if they did well. There ended up being no need for that. They both loved it...and especially loved the goodies bag complete with their own new toothbrush, mini toothpaste, flossers, stickers and more. Kherington keeps asking when we can go back. I did schedule their next appointment (and made sure to do it in the afternoon since Kherington will be in kindergarten and I don't want it to count against her allotted absences).
Both their teeth look awesome with no cavities and no areas to watch. I would guess this has more to do with the kids diet (eating few processed foods) than being good brushers. While I can't stand not brushing my own teeth, I definitely don't stay on top of the kids...and when I do it is just to tell them to go brush on their own. The dentist said Kherington has perfectly spaced beautiful teeth (I agree). Kevin are pretty crowded so no compliments on his. But I did learn that his front tooth isn't dead like I thought it might have been after he nailed it on that metal bowl a couple months back.
