Dallas Ice Storm

That 80 degree weather we had was followed by a huge freeze.  As in I tried to take the kids to the playground and we (okay, so me...the kids didn't care) only lasted 10 minutes because it was so cold.  It just kept getting colder.  Thursday Ryan's office closed at 4pm then he spent 2 hours getting home which normally takes 20 minutes.  Friday his office was closed.  It really didn't look that bad outside, but when we went out to play we found it was over on inch of ice covered with a light dusting of snow.  Very very slippery.  The kids really loved the icicles and thought it was awesome to go down the snow/ice covered slide.  They attempted to make snow angles, but really the layer of snow was so thin you could barely see them.

Saturday the weather didn't get above freezing so nothing melted.  We went out but most stuff was closed. Some roads were okay, but all overpasses were horribly iced over.  It took us over hour to de-ice our car.  We don't own an ice scrapper so we ended up using a couple spatulas from the kitchen.
