Boudewijn Seapark

With our Technopolis season pass, we each get a free pass to the Boudewijn Seapark up in Brugge.  Last year, we didn't take advantage of it, but this year we gave it a try.  It was great. The weather was pleasant...as in overcast, warm but not raining and there was next to no one at the park.  We could walk up to any ride and get on, ride it over and over again if we so desired, then move on.  That is the way to do this kind of park with kids.

We started and ended our trip at the indoor playground.  It has tons of blow-up bouncy things, jungle gyms like you'd see at McDonald's except with trampolines in part of it.  A huge mountain.  Kherington climbed right up it all by herself and even pulled herself up onto the platform.  I had no idea how she was going to get down, but she just lowered herself over and slid.  Kevin and Ryan also loved climbing and sliding on it.  Pretty cool.  There was also one of those chair things that you go up (this one you pull yourself up via rope) then it drops you.  Kherington even had a turn (apparently harnesses are way overrated).
Next up was the dolphin show.  We munch on cracker while we waited for the show to start.  The show was good and the perfect length for little kids.  At the end the Dolphins play 'soccer' and hit these balls out into the audience.  Ryan and Kevin caught one which made it extra fun :).

Now onto the rest of the park.  Kevin was too short to do most of the rides, but he did get to do the carousel and the train.  Kherington was tall enough to do a lot (some she had to go with an adult though).  While Kherington rode, I chased Kevin.  They both had a great time.  Kherington went on the roller coaster 5 times!  Keep in mind harnesses aren't used here...I went once with her and couldn't believe a kid her size was allowed to go. She thought it was awesome and if you ask her she tell you she went "super fast" on the roller coaster.  Here's a just a couple of the rides:
At the far end of the park there are a couple different playground.  There was even a ginormous ball tent complete with slide going into the balls, but neither of the kids gave it a try.  They were way to busy with all the other playground.  After having some help on the teeter-totter, Kevin then taught himself how to climb up and do it.  I didn't think he was tall enough to get himself up, but height didn't seem to be an issue.  Kherington climbed and ran (shoeless of course).  I love the playgrounds here  (in dutch areas in general).
