Kherington Randoms

Kherington is exhausting most of the time, but is also able to crack me up over and over again. She definitely has her own personality.

Bedtime:

...yep...her frog boots and princess backpack are apparently necessities for going to bed. She found them and put them on by herself, showed them off to me then walked herself back to her bedroom.

"Playing" with Kevin:

Kevin now rolls over seconds after putting him on the ground. Kherington thinks it is fun to ride him (Ryan now usually gives her horse ride to her bedroom for bedtime) and Kevin has yet to get upset with it.

Potty Training:
I've been wondering how long Kherington would actually use the small potty (and then have me empty it into the big potty) and figured it would be until she was old enough to do the big potty on her own or until I started consistently taking here there. Well, the other day she decided she wanted to start using the big potty. She moved the big step stool from the shower room to the toilet room (yep...two separate room here in Europe) and then came to get me when she was done. What a girl! She can usually balance on the pot by herself...on occasion she slips in a little and get's stuck :)

Borrowing Kevin's Baby Stuff:

Technically she is still light enough for the swing and she loves helping herself to it.
The other night she was wimpering (not the normal screaming when she get's frustrated or mad) and we couldn't tell exactly what was going on so we went in to check on her and found she can now climb into the crib but was having troubles getting out.

Prayers:
Part of Kherington's prayer with Ryan helping her:
Ryan: thank you for mommy
Kherington: thank you for daddy
Ryan: thank you for brother
Kherington: thank you for daddy
Ryan: thank you for daddy
Kherington: thank you for friends
Ryan: thank you for Mater
Kherington: thank you for snack
This has now happened multiple times...she cracks me up sometimes...and she LOVES her daddy!

Paint:

Definitely her favorite 'crafty' thing to do. She likes to identify each color as she smears it all over the places and even pointed them all out to Ryan when he got home.

Other Randoms:
  • Each item of food must have it's own plate/bowl...she can get them out herself and it you try to help but get the wrong color or type she's correct you.
  • She loves to workout with mom and dad...I'll have to get a picture of her with her weights sometime
  • She is tall enough to open all the doors. This means she can get out of the house on her own or help herself to the shower room (yes...she likes to bath herself...she just strips, climbs in the tub and turns it on)
  • She talks NONE STOP...i hear about friends, friends mommy's and daddy's, movies, grandparents, food, feelings, parks, songs, toys, princesses and so much more ALL DAY LONG
  • She loves playing on the computer. She can navigate the sesame street site well enough to get to the videos and the mouse over of the different characters which she loves. She can also show me which programs we use to talk to different people (the ichat icon for grandparents and the skype icon for different cousins/aunts/uncles)
  • She requests we read the "Bus" book (aka ABC book that has a bus in it) and the Curious George rocket book every night.
  • The lock on the snack draw recently broke so she gets into stuff all the time...but don't worry, she'll bring you something to share which she thinks makes it all better
  • She helped herself to a friend's son's sucker that was on the counter while we were chatting in the other room...then the rest of the day kept saying "Bye Bye yellow sucker, bye bye blue sucker" (the two she left behind).

That prayer cracked me up!! She's such a smart girl, and using the big potty all by herself, I can't believe it!! You guys are amazing parents! I know I say this almost every comment, but I wish we lived close to you guys so we could hang out and Kherington could teach Ez a trick or two (like how to talk maybe!)
