Park and Splash Pad

We are only in May and it is getting hot here.  I think I'm going to melt this summer.  We have been checking out the nearby splash pads and playgrounds.  We went to one in Grapevine that was pretty awesome.  It is free, fenced (with only one opening), has a fun playground right next door and only takes about 10 minutes to get to.  Pretty awesome combination.  After playing at the splash pad, we wandered over to the playground.  It was actually a really nice one complete with themed toys, spiny things, a zipline and more.

Donated Hair

Earlier this week I started to notice my hair shedding a lot so I decided if I was going to donate it, I should do it sooner than later or all that hair would literally go down the drain.  Normally I would just go to Great Clips and call it good, but there were so many bad reviews about the one near by I decided to find a different place.  I ended up going to the Ulta Salon.  When the person cut all the pony tails of hair it was so freeing.  I really don't like long hair. So here's the new do...I won't need to cut my hair for another year :).

I ended up donating through Pantene because they only required 8 inches of hair. The pony tails were probably 10, which is what locks of love requires, but I wanted to be on the safe side.

Sleeping Beauties

Our kids are not sleepers, but I do love it when I catch them in the act.  One night last week I was laying in bed and heard the pitter-patter of feet coming down the hall, but no kid ever appeared.  After a couple minutes I went to check it out and found Kherington passed out in the middle of our door way.  I guess the extra 10 feet or so to the bed was just too much.

Corn Lover

I got some corn on the cob for the first time since moving back to the States.  I knew Kherington liked corn, but this little girl plowed through 3 full ears before I cut her off.  I guess it's part of the Glover blood.

Last day of Ballet

Kherington had her last day of ballet.  The teacher had the parents come in and watch the kids perform their tap routine, then the ballet routine and then sing a cute little song for us.  We aren't doing the recital since it is on Sunday so this was a nice end to the class.

As of now my goal is to only have the kids do one activity at a time so Kherington will have to chose between ballet and soccer. We'll see what she decides.

More Artwork

Kherington begged me to break out the 'paint in two line' aka water colors.  She has become quite the artist.  I love seeing how much more detail her artwork has now.  It is also pretty interested to see who she decides to include in her pictures or what little details she adds.  For example, when she as explaining the picture below to me she showed me that she drew herself when she gets older and pointed out that she is going to have two pony tails (pig tails).

Kevin like the painting too (but will not give me a smile for the picture).  He stopped mid painting to run and tell me that if you mix all the colors together it makes brown.  He was so excited. Haha.  Very cute.

Neti pot adventures

Ryan allergies have been really bad.  I guess Dallas is known for that.  When I was working at Omniture, one of my co-workers went on and on about the neti pot and how they helped flush everything out and how he doesn't have bad allergies anymore.  I ordered one for Ryan and enjoyed watching him use it for the first time.  We'll see if it does any good.  I would guess he need to be consistent this it to actually work.
