Fun Filled Saturday

Today went from wide open to really busy.  Kherington's tball game was going to be cancelled again due to wet fields but at the last minute they decided to have the game, but play it on the soccer fields.  Right after her game we went to the Y so I could get my 3rd run of the week in before meeting up with our friends.  I ended up doing the 3 miles at a 7:24 pace.  My fastest 3 miles yet.

We then headed to Six Flags with our friends.  They have season passes and today they could bring friends for free.  They were only able to stay for a couple rides and then they left for a soccer game and took Jonathan with them and I stayed with Kevin and Kherington.  It worked out great since Kherington was tall enough for a lot of rides and Kevin was borderline where he had to ride with an adult.

They kids really wanted to do splash mountain so we stood in the long line.  The whole time I tried talking them out of it.  I really did not want to get soaked.  They were super excited so we went again and did it.  The splash drench all of us pretty good, but we still had a couple dry patches.  Then when you exit you can stand on the bridge above where the ride splashes and get soaked a second time.  I passed on it, but waited while they did.  Kherington walked away bawling.  She was drenched head to toe, plus was wearing socks and tennis shoes and wanted her crocs.  In the end she decided she wanted to stay and go on more rides.  Next we went to a mini roller coaster (the only one they were tall enough for).  We ended up in the very first cart which was awesome but what made it better was the person stopping the ride overshot the platform so we got to go an extra turn.  Doesn't get much better than that.  When we were leaving, I asked the kids what their favorite rides were and they said the swings and the carasouel.  Kind of funny.
We went and picked Jonathan up from our friends, made a quick pit stop at home for some food and outfit change then headed to the splash pad (we're trying to maximize any nice non-stormy weather days).  Jonathan thought it was the best thing ever.  I hope we have a couple more splash pad worthy days so we can go back.
