Kherington's First Day of School

Kherington is now off on her own adventure....she started school today (yes, she is only 2.5, but that's when they start school here)! She woke up this morning and Ryan and I had half of our workout left, so she chilled on the couch. We had oatmeal with craisins for breakfast. Got her ready, did some last minute labeling of clothing and attaching of the mittens to the coat (both required) and headed down the street to school.

We ran into her little friend Lea on the way. She also started today and they are in the same class which is awesome! Well, we made it, talked with the teacher a little (she speaks a tiny bit of English), and showed Kherington where the potty was. Kherington gave Ryan, Kevin and I hugs and kisses and ran off to play outside with the other kids. No tears. No don't leave. Nothing. I think going to nursery helped this. Then at pick-up I found that she cried all day...she'll get used to it.

So some thoughts for today...having 1 kid at home is about 20 times easier than having 2 kids at home. We made it out to the grocery store and back (after it took me like 30 minutes to figure out how to unfold my new stroller) in lightening speed. I got everything unpacked, sliced up some fresh veggies to have on hand for snack and still have time to spare before picking Kherington up. This is AWESOME!

Here she is when I picked her up (on the 2nd day):
