Parente & Glover Grandparents Visit

We were lucky enough to have Grandma Glover, Grandpa Glover, Uncle Dave and Aunt Cindy visit for a couple days. I am pretty sure that as of now Uncle Dave is Kherington's favorite uncle. She Calls everyone else by their name except Uncle Dave is just known as "Uncle."

We took the bus/metro to picked them up from the train station downtown which Kherington loved. After getting them settled in their rental downtown (and feeding Kevin), we headed out for dinner at an Italian restuarant recommended by Rick Steves. The pasta was fresh and delicious. I think Kherington made her rounds tasting from each persons plate.

The next morning we headed to Bruge. I had only been to Bruge once and didn't love it, but after giving it another try, I'd like to go back and do a complete walking tour. We parked at the train station (for free) and walked into town. Rick Steves recommended a little chocolate shop so we made sure to try it out. Uncle Dave kept coming out with new chocolates for each of us to test and while we were there the sweet shop owner (it's a family run place) came out and and gave both Kherington and Kevin a piece of chocolate...very nice of her, but chocolate wasn't on the top of my list of foods to introduce to Kevin...not to say he hasn't helped himself to it before.

Funniest story of Bruge has to do with the bathrooms...hahahaha...not sure if it's okay to post here, but you might be able to persuade Uncle Dave to tell you about it :).

Sunday was no car day in Brussels which mean EVERYONE had to take public transit to church. Ryan had to go early for meetings (nothing new there) so I made it out the door with both kids on time and met the fam at the tram stop by church. I did make the mistake of dressing Kherington in a skirt that was a little too big so it kept falling off as we walked. We ended up taking it off and she walked/rode the tram home in tights and her sweater :).

Touring was cut a little short when the rain started pouring...welcome to Brussels. It so much fun to eat and chat with everyone. An we put together a special dessert in honor of Aunt Cindy's birthday that was just a few days before. CHOCOLATE!!! We had an array of chocolates and a couple candies that we love. Yuuummmmmy!

Monday Ryan headed up to Amsterdam with them. They called a few times while they were in the car and it sounded like everyone was having a good time (and eating lots of the chocolate I packed up for them to snack on :).
