I like weekends...who doesn't? I spend all week alone with two kids, then on weekends since Ryan is around he can help out and I don't have to be in the same room as the kids all the time :).
This last weekend was not the most refreshing weekend ever. Friday evening we started noticing that Kevin was feeling a little hot so we took his temperature and found that it was at 38.8 degrees Celsius (101.8 F). We called both out old pediatrician from Utah and the hospital here and both told us we need to go in to the emergency room...ugh...ANOTHER weekend sickness!
We pulled Kherington out of bed and headed to the hospital. We got there are midnight, they took blood and urine samples and we waited. Since he is less than 3 months old, the hospital requires that he say for at least 24 hours. Finally at 2am they took me and Kevin to out room (lets just say it was a closet a window that looked out at the information desk) and Kherington and Ryan headed home.
They took blood in the afternoon and the following morning. His temperature went down on it's own and the blood samples improved each time (not sure exactly what that means, but that's what they told me), so we got to go home Sunday afternoon. During our stay, Ryan was nice enough to make a couple of trips with supplies and Kherington feel in love with the playroom and wandering around with her snacks.
We're happy he's back to his normal chill self (and is no longer hooked up to a machine that beeps in the middle of the night), but I am very sad that I now have to wait another whole week for a weekend!
