Kidney Stone

Ryan had his very first Kidney stone!

Here he is in his glory...Kherington ate a LOT of chocolate (leftover easter chocolates that I had luckily stuck in my purse) and shared Rainbow bear with her dad.

Not exactly a good thing. He wasn't feeling very good starting about 5am. He decided to stay home from work because he wasn't feeling good...that should give you an indication of how bad he felt. I figured he'd take some medicine, sleep it off and feel better by the end of the day. Well, he felt bad enough to try and track down a doctor. He went to one doctor's office and found that for just that day it was closed until 4pm. Finally around 10am he asked if we could go over to the hospital (that's where we took Kherington when she got sick on a weekend...really it's just a euro or two more expensive for us than going to the doctor). We dropped him off and went to find parking and by the time we got in, he was already strapped to a bed with an IV. The pain started going away, they still did some type of scan though.

In the meantime, for 5 HOURS Kherington and I played in their play area, walked the halls, read books, did laps around the elevators, stopped for a sandwich at the cafe. Now that is a long time to try and keep a toddler entertained. We were happy to finally go home with a pain free daddy.
