Iron Chef Glover

We love watching the Food Network channel and our show of choice currently is Iron Chef, so we decided to have Iron Chef Glover. The secret ingredient: CHICKEN. We each got two chicken breasts and could make anything we wanted with them. Ryan made Alice Spring Chicken (for all you outback fans, you can find it on the menu there) and Erin made Spinach and Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breasts.

Each dish was so different which made it very hard to compare. Since they both tasted really good, we determined it was a tie (no fun). As our tie breaker, we had Erin's younger brother, Logan, come over to judge (it was pretty hard to get him to come eat free food). He said since he's more of a BBQish fan, he favored Ryan's Alice Spring Chicken and even asked if we could teach him how to make it so he could impress a girl...he just has to first find a girl to impress.

We then made plate of goodies to take to people in the ward for Halloween. Erin made pumpkin bread and peanut butter bars while Ryan made No-bakes. Yummmy!

Aside from our cooking life, we are both still going to school and working. Ryan has been interviewing with Accounting firms for a Winter Internship. Saturday we went to our first women's volleyball match of the season with Megan, Elaine and Aunt Celecta. Pretty fun!

It's so fun to see pictures and stories about the Glover's themselvess! I'm sure all the food you made was delicious. And that's a pretty impressive hat collection! Where did you get the racks to store them? Scott doesn't have nearly that many, but he needs somewhere to keep his hats.

Wow--excuse me Iron Chefs...your dishes both look amazing. In Erin's defense, I think I might have favored her dish. It is a little more my style. Please feel free to forward the recipes (if they weren't super difficult to make).

Fun game! We would be happy to judge your next cook off.

Hmmm... I don't know what to say, since we've never had anything like that in the Mike Dixon family, owing to the fact that my dad has taught my mom all she knows about cooking. Might be fun, though... I should learn to cook & try it.

Wow! Look at you guys, if Bren and I were to have a dinner cook-off, it would be frozen pizza vs. pancakes and cheesy eggies. I make some pretty delicious cheesy eggies if I do say so myself. I don't think I've ever even bought mushrooms before. I'm impressed! Looks like a fun date night! And it was fun to see Logan too! Bren was hoping to get some dirty details on him...I told him to just give him a call but that's probably too difficult.

I realize you are in the middle of finals week and getting ready to get gone for the break (and after), but really....your public needs you!
