A Day of Lasts

Today was Kherington's last day of Kindergarten since we are leaving tomorrow (school doesn't get out for another week).  She has had a great year and will miss both Miss Augustine and Mrs. Servantes.

I had my last workout at the YMCA.  I have never been a gym person, but the classes and people here were amazing.  I will be sad to leave my workout buddy Emily.  We met at the gym and were always able to push each other.  It is amazing how much stronger both of us are.
The Lingenbrinks just got keys to their new house and it has a pool so the kids all got to go test it out.  So much fun!  After swimming, they kept the kids for dinner and a movie night so I could go get some last minute things done (pack the car).  I love to see these kids together.
And the saddest goodbye (ignore the fact that we both look terrible in the picture).  You know THAT friend.  The one that you can call anytime, can ask for help and accept help without feeling like you owe them.  The one whose kids have become your own and it is easier to watch both your kids than just your own.  That friend whose husband works long hours also so you do dinner together then only have to worry about going home and getting your kids to bed.  That one you can talk about anything with and know it won't become gossip. Well, I just said goodbye to THAT friend. Make me sad.  She is such an amazing example of kindness and service and has made me want to be a better person.  This has definitely been the hardest part of the move.  THAT friend is hard to find.
Yissel and Matt came to drop off the kids, they also brought a road trip bag with snacks, books and music for the long drive.  Just makes me miss this family even more.

Packing and Moving Day

The packers came and packed up our house on the first day.  That means  no more beds and lot and lots of boxes all over the place.  The kids (when awake) thought the mazes of boxes were fun to play in.

Then on the second day, they filled the truck.  The house is now empty, except for those things that were under furniture like these long lost puzzle and game pieces.  These would be thanks to Jonathan's love for shoving things in any small gap.  Now on to cleaning and figuring out where we will live in Washington.  We will be homeless in 2 days!
The kids played at our friends house for the day and when I went to pick them up, I found Kevin like this.  Safe to say he completely comfortable at their house and always ready with his shoes.

Fastest drive through ever

I started this morning with snuggles from Jonathan at way too early in the morning and ended the day with Rosa's.  We sure are going to miss taco tuesday.  How can you beat delicious mexican food that feeds the family plus leftovers for $8, plus has an insanely fast drive through?

I keep finding treasures

I keep finding treasures that Kherington has brought home and some point.  These were for me for mothers day.  It is a little hard to read but here's what the pages say:

I love it when my mom "pixs me up from skool"
To relax my mom like to "not let us bug her"
My mom's favorite song is "the blue song"
She sings like a "skack"
My mom's favorite TV show is "the farmer skack"
It bugs my mom when "I make her frushtraidid"
I wish I could buy my mom "twislrs"

Kherington's class also put together a recipe book of things their mom's make for them with the kids describing it:

Mackronee and cheese By Kherington
First she baxs the pot.  Next she puts the mackronee and cheese in the pot.  Next she baxs it in the uvin. Filay we eatit up.

Memorial Day

Ryan was a super sport and came to my workout class at the Y this morning.  Three husband in total came and it was fun to watch them suffer through the type of class their wives do a couple times a week.  At one point we were doing wheelbarrows around the track upstairs and none of the could do it.  They also all need to learn to plank.  It was a fun way to start the day.

We were able to do some swimming in the Parente's heated pool before the storm rolled in.  Due to the weather, we changed things up a bit and started with the swimming and ended with BBQ.  Everyone had a blast!  The kids were wiped out on our way home.  We sure will miss the Parente Pack.

Houston Trip

Ryan came in town and we did a quick trip down to Houston to hang out with Jason and Tiffany's family and see their new house.  The kids had a blast jumping on the trampoline with the sprinkler underneath and having bike races.   I am always impressed at how well they play together considering they don't get to see each other often.

They also came up with the idea of sliding down the stairs in their sleeping bags.  Too cute.

Friends

Some of my favorite pictures from lately.  Costco with 4 kids under 4, painting, beading, teaching each other how to get around the baby gate, and playground time.

The baby gate teaching was pretty funny.  I could not figure out how Hannah managed to get to the other side, but Jonathan was doing his best to join her (and getting frustrated in the process).  Later I saw that she had moved some boxes and wiggled in from the behind the stairs.  Smart girl.

For Kherington's Birthday, the Lingenbrink's gave Kherington a couple book with some fun activities including going to the movies, and a shopping spree.  Yissel took Kherington and Isabel shopping for matching outfits.  They came back with a normal outfit, 2 dresses, a neckace and bracelet, pajamas and sandals.  They both loved it. I'm totally stealing that idea in the future.

Jonathan and Hannah were born just 2 months apart (Hannah was born the week we moved to Texas).  It has been so much fun to see them grow and actually start playing together.
